Osteopathy for baby’s and children:

Like for adults, an Osteopathic examination will include a full assessment of the musculoskeletal system. This, along with a careful case history of the pregnancy, birth and early life, can help to find potential causes of discomfort or pain, resulting in unsettled behaviour and potentially a change in function.

Elaine is a certified Paediatric Osteopath and her extensive experience in this area allows application of the specialist skill and knowledge required to look beyond conditions and apply gentle manual (cranial and structural) techniques to restore and maintain health and well being.

Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial osteopathy is a gentle, subtle and refined technique of osteopathy that includes the head as well as the rest of the body.

“Osteopathy is a philosophy of healthcare that acknowledges that the living body is a self-renewing, self-regenerating, self-recuperating system which maintains health constantly throughout life. Whenever that health-maintaining system is compromised, symptoms or disease could develop. Osteopathy is concerned with that which has compromised health rather than the resulting condition.”
Osteopathic Alliance

Changes in tissue tension, in adults, children and babies can help diagnose areas of strain or dysfunction and direct gentle treatment of those areas to assist the patient back to more comfort and improved function.
